Today began with an adventure to the mission bay jetty, where Fiona, Hannah and I attempted to collect sea urchins. To collect an urchin, you have to scrape and pry it off the rock it is suctioned to. We collected a total of four urchins. We then set off back to SIO where we toured an ecology lab. There, they study isotope relations in marine life and spawning aggregation patterns. After the ecology lab, some of us were able to see the experimental aquarium at SIO. Lauren was so kind and said that the lab was able to give us some animals for an experiment tomorrow. The group also went to the tide pools where we were able to eat lunch and investigate the pools. There was another dolphin spotting!
